This article presents an empirical study whose purpose was to identify the main drivers for attracting investment in the Far Eastern region by studying statistical data from open sources. As a result, it was found that the region in question, at the time of the study, had an average investment attractiveness (for this reason the hypothesis put forward by the authors of the article was not confirmed), but it is worth noting the tendency to rapidly increase investment flows to the regions, which in turn ensures great potential for their development. The main methods for attracting investment flows to the region are: large-scale projects aimed at developing the manufacturing, mining and logistics industries, as well as developing the region’s infrastructure; a trend towards the development of tourism; development of state programs for the development of the Far Eastern region.
