The article discusses the demographic aspects of aging in Russia, reveals the concept of “Active Aging” and “Active Aging Index”. The socio-economic factors affecting the possibility of active aging in Russia are analyzed, such as an increase in part-time employment, including in the informal sector of the economy, as well as the investments in paying relatives for caring for children or the elderly. The article also indicates the main areas of investment in the elderly.
