The article provides the results of studying the functioning of mnemic verbs in the English language. Modification of their lexical meanings in the political discourse is examined taking into account the pragmatic aspect. The analysis was conducted by the material of video-recordings of the high-ranking British politicians’ speeches on Brexit. Linguistic representation of human memory was analysed taking into account the following components: a subject, a mnemic verb, an informational actant. The research findings can be used when studying the specificity of the political language.
