By using complementary geomorphological and geological methods the conclusions about Late Pleistocene to Holocene history of lake level changes and terrace formations of the 3.6 million yr age meteoric crater Lake El'gygytgyn (Eastern Siberia) are carried out. It is shown that Lake El'gygytgyn level changes during its history are characterized not only by gradual lowering but moreover that they depend upon global scale climate variability.
