The article analyzes the history of the emergence and structure of «goshuin» pilgrimage stamps, as well as an analysis of the functions of “goshuin” in modern Japanese society. The article raises an important issue of the transformation of cultural traditions in modern Japanese society on the example of “goshuin”. As part of the article, an Internet survey was conducted among the Japanese, aimed at identifying
the level of awareness of the Japanese about “goshuin” and the reasons
for the “goshuin meguri” pilgrimage of modern Japanese.
