The article deals with the problem of developing image policy of modern Russia, shows its role in the foreign policy of the country, offers theoretical approaches to its understanding. Based on the ratings, the strengths and weaknesses of the external image of modern Russia are revealed, the peculiarities of our country's perception in the conditions of international sanctions are shown. The author formulates recommendations to improve the effectiveness of image policy in Russia.
