This article presents the results of the study of metacognitive processes among the athletes. The relationship is revealed between the level of development of metacognitive knowledge and manifestation of some indicators of the psychological readiness to the sporting activity. Differences were found in formation of metacognitive knowledge and regulation among the athletes of the different sports experience and sports qualifications.
