The article discusses the stylistic introduction of I. E. Schikaneder (Schikaneder, 1751-1812) into the opera The Magic Flute («Die Zauberflöte», 1791), as well as his innovation as a theatrical figure of the Enlightenment. The study has revealed that an important stylistic feature of the «Magic Flute» is its multi-layering, genre connection, as well as a combination of the current traditions of the Enlightenment.
