Using the example of Sysert, the article analyzes the phenomenon of
local socio-historical identities in the Urals. The research sources are literary narratives of Sysert authors-from the works of P.P. Bazhov to the publications of local workers. The author of the article draws conclusions not only about the phenomenon under consideration, but also about the perception of the residents of Sysert of their identity.
