This article analyses the aesthetics of the voice in
besieged Leningrad's radio broadcasts, focusing on Olga
Berggolts. Examining physicality, everyday life, communica-
tion, and power, it argues her voice became a vital phenomenon
for survival, uniting citizens and preserving their humanity dur-
ing the extreme conditions.
