The article is dedicated to the principle of speech superfluity – or anti-economy – that works simultaneously with the economy principle and sometimes counterbalances it. The research has been done on corpora material. A typology of speech augmentation ways is provided. One of those ways is hypercorrection when a speaker uses a word group instead of a single word, or when a compound particle is used instead of a simple one. There are also some cases of self-correction, synonymic pragmatic items doubling, and hesitative markers. Altogether they are unique features of colloquial speech.
