The article is devoted to the analysis of the African digital technology market and the assessment of the potential of Russian IT companies on this continent. The relevance of the study is due to the growing mutual interest of Russia and African countries in cooperation, which is largely related to the current geopolitical situation in the world. It is shown that Africa is a strategic partner of Russia and is characterized by high potential in many areas of cooperation, including relations in the field of digital technologies. The main purpose of the study is to show the key problem areas in the field of digitalization in Africa, where the Russian experience can be useful. In particular, attention is focused on the low level of provision of smartphones and Internet access to the population, which is a serious limitation for the digital development of the region. At the same time, the article provides examples of successful activities of Russian companies in the field of information security, which may be in demand by African states. It is noted that Russia has a high potential in the development of Internet infrastructure, as well as in providing solutions for the agrotechnological sector. Special attention is paid to the possibility of training African IT specialists at domestic universities, both remotely and face-to–face. In general, the conclusion is drawn about the significant prospects of Russian IT companies in the African digital technology market and the need for their active development.
