The monograph “Extremism in the Modern World” comprehensively explored aspects of the Russian and international legal framework to combat extremism, analyzed the theoretical aspects of studying the issues of extremist discourse in various social sciences. The authors formulated proposals aimed at identifying markers of extremist discourse, localization and the eradication of extremism as the ultimate goal. The head of the monograph on the media model of the world in the context of extremist discourse deserves special attention. St. Petersburg scientists B.Ya. Misonzhnikov, G. S. Mel'nik, A. N. Grishanina note the dangerous tendency for extremists to choose the means and methods of conducting information-psychological wars that can lead to long-term changes in the socio-political system of society, to the intensification of the political struggle and the use of direct forms of violence, to a partial change or lesion of the human central nervous system.
