The poetical works of the movie director Dziga Vertov created in 1914-1922 are treated as an important stage in the formation of the artist’s personality. The article analyzes the substantive and formal/poetical aspects of his most important verses, identifies the typical features of Vertov’s lyrical persona, the place of «Toom» cycle in the author’s artistic legacy.
