The article is devoted to the problem of expanding Russia’s
cultural influence in Iran. The term “Soft Power”, not in the classical American interpretation, but in the Russian and Iranian understandings corresponds to the concept of “external cultural influence”.
Based on materials from the periodical press and information from
Iranian electronic resources, the authors show how the foreign policy
of Russia in Iran in the field of culture, science and education is being
implemented in the context of world politics trends. The main attention is paid to factors contributing to and hindering its implementation.
