The article examines the intertext of story by I.A. Bunin “Antigone”, which is a series of short stories about love “The Dark alleys”. The paper shows that the basis of the intertextual field of Bunin’s story is Pushkin’s allusions and reminiscences, even more specifically - Pushkin’s images and motifs from the novel in verse “Eugene Onegin”. The creation of a powerful “talking” intertext becomes one of the important constants of the artistic world of Bunin’s cyclic stories and the story “Antigone” in particular. The context of Russian classical literature allows Bunin to create projections to the literary texts of his predecessors (in this case Pushkin) and thereby to expand the space of his own (meta) text due to rich literary references.
