The article investigates the problem of formation and functioning of linguocultural types of commentators in modern Internet publications. A commentator today has become an active participant of the media discourse, influencing, among other things, the perception of journalistic publications, instantly changing positions - the addressee to the sender. On the basis of the theory of linguocultural types (V. I. Karasik, E. M. Dubrovskaya) such types of commentators as “connoisseur”, “troll” (subtypes of “pseudo-connoisseur”, “troublemaker”, “grammar Nazi”), “oppositionist” (including “skeptic”), “flooder”, “archivist” were singled out. Each of these types plays one or another communication role, which determines the choice of languages of methods and means, as well as determines the functions of the commentator in the process of communication. The content analysis of comments is based on such units of the account: terms (type “connoisseur”), propositional predicates and imperative form of the verb (type “connoisseur”), insults (type “troll”), mockery (type “troll”), expression of dissent (type “oppositional”), expression of doubt (type “oppositional”), memes (type “flooder”), reference to previous messages (type “archivist”).The results of the content analysis of TJournal’s comments made it possible to characterize the linguistic means defining this or that linguocultural type, to present the specificity of its (self)representation in the discussion of journalistic materials.
