The article deals with information and legal problems of forming a digital profile in the context of identification processes. The author notes that at present there is no legal regulation of relations related to the digital profile, and the existing concepts of its formation do not take into account a number of problematic issues, including taking into account its legal essence and the unresolved nature of such a related area as big data. The creation of a digital profile will also require the development of data processing security. Based on the analysis of existing approaches, the author's definition of a digital profile and ideas for the step-by step development of legislation on identification and digital profile are proposed.
