Consumer protection issues in the Soviet Union were regulated by various branches of law, including criminal law. However, the combination of the concepts of "consumer rights" and "Soviet state"sounds paradoxical, since for most of the Soviet history there was a dictatorship of the producer, deficit, normalized supply and trade on the principle of "take what they give". The book examines the criminal law and analyzes the statistics of prosecution for the production of substandard products and deception of buyers. The aim of the author is to find out whether the strict rules of criminal law were applied in practice or there was "inflation of the law". The book is intended for specialists in the field of law, can be useful for students and graduate students of historical and law schools.
