The article considers issues related to the importance of development of fundamental economic theory (opposed to applied research), as well as problems that hinder forming the unified theoretical knowledge through the integration of existing scientific schools. According to the authors, attention to the experience of other humanities - in particular, linguistics - can be of great help in overcoming the interpretative conflicts that exist between different theoretical paradigms.
