The article discusses a number of finds and complexes of the 20th century, discovered
during the archaeological study of the island New Holland in St. Petersburg and allowing to reconstruct some aspects of everyday life. According to the author, the study of late stratae is, among other
things, a convenient testing ground for improving the methods of fixing and interpreting of archaeological material.
