The article analyses some factors that may hinder the Russian-Venezuelan constructive political dialogue. Looking back at the complex state crisis hitting Venezuela, the author finds out three risks: the partisation of the Russian-Venezuelan strategic partnership; oversimplification, by the Russian side, of the phenomenon of the anti-US sentiment in Venezuela; the Bolivarian project image tarnished within the regional context. To conclude, some steps are proposed as possibly useful to mitigate the risks.
