The research reveals and empirically proven the inverse correlation between the number of active users of Web 2.0 platforms in the regions and the appearance at the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation in the electoral cycle of 2016. Based on the results of the research, the author analyzes the possible causes of this dependence.
