The article contains comparative information about the main characteristics of adverbial participle (gerunds, converbs) in the Russian language and
those verbal-nominal forms that are included in the same category of the Turkish language. Turkic converbs have a number of features that distinguish them from their equivalents in European languages. Properties of Turkish adverbial forms, which were shown in the article, in principle, can be extended to similar forms of other Turkic languages.
