The review is devoted to the multi-authored monograph by teachers of Saint-Petersburg State University «From Nation-States to the European Unity: Issues of European Integration in the 19-21st centuries». The work examines separate problems and characteristics of the European integration on the basis of a wide range of sources. The monograph traces the evolution of the European unity from the end of the 18th century until the present day. Special attention is paid to the role of France and Germany in the development of European construction process.
