The article is devoted to the study of the problem of the relationship between the idea and the image of God in the works of J.A.Comenius. The concept of the “idea of God” was popular in the philosophy of the 17th century. In particular, it was considered in the writings of Decartes and Spinoza. Spinoza built his philosophical concepts by the logical knowledge of God, through the idea. He denied the possibility of a figurative (in particular, personalistic) perception and knowledge of God. Comenius, on the contrary, in his writings, offers a whole range of images that open the mind and heart of man to the path of knowing God.
