The article presents the idea that a work of art is not created by a single creative act of its author, but is born in the process of gradually acquiring meaning that occurs in the chain of artistic communication. Each link of this chain, stretched from the author to the performer, and from him to the art recipient (viewer, reader, listener), enriches the text of the future work with its participation. It follows that the viewer, who is the final link in the communicative chain, has the responsibility to complete the path of creating the artwork, the author concludes.
