The article discusses the correlations between self-change potential and personality traits, mental rigidity, self-regulation and psychological well-being. Methods: questionnaires: “The self-change potential” (Manukyan, Murtazina), “The style of behavior self-regulation” (Morosanova), Five-factor personality traits questionnaire (Costa, McCrae), Tomsk rigidity questionnaire (Zalevsky), self-efficacy questionnaire (Madduks, Scheer), scale of well-being by K. Riff. The study expanded the understanding of the content of selfchange potential. It was revealed that a high self-change potential was associated with extraversion and emotional stability. The ability to self-change was limited by mental rigidity at all levels and involved the absence of fear of the new, the acceptance of the need for change. The connection of conscious self-regulation and self-efficacy with the ability to self-change indicated the importance of a purposeful distribution of subjective activity and predicting success in the subject and interpersonal spheres for the implementation of changes. The positive correlation between self-change potential and psychological well-being confirmed its importance for the positive functioning of personality.
