The article substantiates the thesis that N. G. Debolsky in his interpretation of being and the knowledge of God tried to combine in a consistent way the dogmas of faith and the results of the achievements of contemporary natural science. A meaningful analysis of the issues under consideration is based on the analysis of the main works of Debolsky. The article shows how the Debolsky’s general philosophical understanding of the notion of being is conjugated with his understanding of the existence of God, and his general interpretation of consciousness and self-consciousness determines his understanding of the personality of God. The article concludes that Debolsky’s interpretation of God as the Supreme intelligent being (First Mind) has distinct deistic and theistic elements, which are caused by mechanistic character modern to him natural sciences.
