This article discusses the changes that have occurred in the US information policy since 2009. Those shifts and the characteristic features of these transformations are caused at each of the considered time periods mainly by external factors. The US information policy tends to adapt to a changing environment, and each time new principles, new information operations, new strategic plans, new approaches, new concepts change its appearance, give the US information policy new specific characteristics. During the time period considered in the article, there were at least three fundamental changes, three sharp shifts that led to the transformation of the US information policy. The indicated tendencies characteristic of inherent in the periods of the first administration of B. Obama, the second administration of B. Obama, the administration of D. Trump are manifested in transformations of the relevant departments, updating the US legislative base, changing strategies, changing guiding concepts, accompanying rhetoric
