The article is devoted to the prominent ideologue of the American Revolution of the XVIII century, the third U. S. President Thomas Jefferson and his concept of democracy. Unlike many other thinkers, Jefferson was not only a theoretician, but also effectively claimed democracy as one of the ideologues and fathers - the founders of the United States. Along with James Madison, he developed one of the most advanced concepts of relationships of the state and society and almost put it into practice. The result of this activity has become one of the most advanced for its time political systems affecting the whole world.
