This article is devoted to the biography of Prince Ivan Semenovich Kurakin, the descendant of an old aristocratic family and an active participant in the Time of Troubles of the early seventeenth century. Based on published and archival sources, the author restores Kurakin’s genealogy and corrects and expands his biography.
