The article reveals specifics of the unity principle as the most important component of tantric soteriology. In the context of this principle, liberation is a state of supreme integrity, unity with God. The most important kind of unity is a complete identification with God. This identification is inherent in the soul initially, but it is hidden under false accretions, and the goal of tantric practice is to reveal it, replacing the false identity with a genuine (“divine”) identity. The realization of unity is possible because the highest reality itself is one, the symbolic expression of which is the pair of divine spouses (Śiva and Śakti). The unity of higher reality forms the “archetype” of all other types of unity. Liberation in the context of the unity principle can also be understood as a dissolution, in the sense of the absolute loss of the egoistic self. The connection with the Absolute implies the liberation of one’s original nature. Total identification synthesis in Tantrism leads to a global picture o
