The aim of the work is to test intraocular pressure changes after vitrectomy with silicone oil tamponade of the vitreous chamber. The methodology of work consists in the analysis of intraocular pressure changes after microinvasive vitrectomy with silicone tamponade in patients with retinal detachment. The group consists of 66 patients aged 57±14 (26 - 79) years, with dystrophic and traumatic retinal detachment. The main results - the ocular hypertension, hypotony and development of secondary silicone glaucoma significantly affect the functional outcome after microinvasive vitrectomy. To prevent this complication, careful dynamic monitoring and timely removal of silicone oil are necessary. However, in some patients, for technical and medical reasons, early removal of silicone is not always possible.
