This article is devoted to the ontological problems of modern ethics. Modernity is determined by the crash of metaphysical tradition, in which the sense of human life and his ethical obligations was conditioned by participation in eternal being. The denial of this participation got the name of nihilism. The main problem of modern ethics is whether it is possible to construct ethics without metaphysics.
