This article is devoted to reviewing the question about the possible directions of development of ontology in the current situation. The actual form of ontological discourse at the present time is the event-ontology, which is projected onto the applied areas of nature, social life and anthropological reality. Heidegger’s concept «Event» (Ereignis) received its reception in the modern Western and Russian tradition. One of the promising trends in the development of event-ontology is presented in the context of the philosophy of education. The formation of the philosophical tradition is determined by the events of specific historical disputes about being, the events of communicative meetings of the past thinkers. The event character of philosophical thought must be considered as the principle of philosophical education, which should be reflected in the methodology of its teaching.
