The article deals with the main stages of development of the Soviet Latin American Studies in 1920-1930s. The authors focus their attention at the basic features of the studies of Latin American continent in our country. A considerable part of the article is devoted to the biographies of G.Skalov, V.Miroshevsky, G.Yakobson and their contribution to the Latin American studies.
