The article discusses the linguopedagogical features of the "Grammar of French and Russian" - the first textbook of Russian as a foreign language, published in Russia in 1730. It is established that this textbook is close to modern textbooks in terms of its material and the nature of its presentation. It takes into account the communicative needs of the addressee, the specifics of the language acquisition initial stage, the native language and educational level of students.
