The article discusses the topic related to the dimension of the life and work of one of the brightest figures of the Russian religious and social movement of the early XXth century Valentin Pavlovich Sventsitsky (1881-1931) - publicist, playwright, religious writer, religious thinker, rector of the Moscow Church "St. Nikola the Big Cross" on Ilyinka. He gained fame in the religious and philosophical circles of Moscow and St. Petersburg at the beginning of the last century due to his exceptional abilities, he was a man of his time and referred himself to the people of the new era, standing at the turn of a new religiosity and aspiring to realize themselves in the mainstream of religious and social activities. In Petrograd in 1917 Valentin Sventsitsky was ordained a priest. Having devoted himself entirely to the Orthodox Church, organizing and conducting cycles of talks on spiritual and Church-historical topics among parishioners of Moscow churches, he drew attention to himself with "ardent" sermons and appeals to spirituality.
