The article considers the author-narrator Marshal K. K. Rokossovsky's personality as it is represented in his memoirs “Soldier's Duty”. The discursive analysis of the text allows the researcher to identify its components interacting with each other to form a single whole and helps to understand Rokossovsky's personality manifesting itself in the process of the dynamic development of the memoirs discourse planes, which include a referential information plane, an optional information plane, an evaluative plane and a psychological plane.
