The article reveals the relationship between the two types of interest: under articles 317.1 and 395 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, the importance of delimitation of interest for various legal relations of obligation. The article substantiates the position on the need to increase the amount of annual interest under art. 395 of the Civil Code in order that these interests play a more significant role as sanctions for violation of monetary obligations.
