The article discusses the discussion of the concept and nature of currency law. The definition of currency law and other related concepts is given. Currency law is defined as private law, which follows from the nature of the relations it regulates (based on its - it is transactions) and methods of their regulation (equality and autonomy of the will of the participants of the relationship, their property independence). Currency regulation and control by the state are subsidized public law tools used to organize the foreign exchange market. In the process of legal regulation of currency relations there is a interaction of private law (self-regulation) and public law (state regulation).
