The article discusses the features of cultural conflicts that arise in the context of globalization and cross-cultural interaction. It is said that the society throughout its existence faced with the contradictions of different nature and properties, most of which lead to conflicts. The conflict is always to some extent associated with violence, when one subject of the conflict tends to get what it want at the expense of another, whether it be a single individual or group. Although the conflict as a specific phenomenon of social life does not change, always remaining a clash of interests but the essence of the conflict, its scale, the border area of manifestations in the course of history are changed. At the present stage of development of society are becoming more and more urgent problems such as the threat of terrorism, information confrontation until the information war and others problems of human society. Defining the nature of the globalization of culture, the author considers the problems in society in the context of globalization and intercultural conflict which is unfolding in these conditions. Defining the main characteristics and determinants of contemporary intercultural conflict, the author regarded the mediation as one of the alternatives to work with this kind of conflict.
