The focus of the present issue is on explanatory potential of the discourse analysis methodology as applied for the analysis of German texts and theme-functional text types. German texts are considered by the authors as elements of a corpus (discursive formation) of thematically and functionally related texts which form dialogue relationships with each other rather than enclosed textual structures. However, the researchers draw on the analysis of lexical, grammatical, composition and content-related, textual and typological, etc. text structure to reconstruct material layout of the corresponding texts and text types in their linguocultural specifcs as applied to the German language corpus.
