The article conducted a study on the topic “Features of the formation of civic identity among modern young people of Georgia”, as representatives of the country, on the one hand, oriented recently to Western values, and on the other - with a historical conservative way of life. Among key values, young people singled out: education (20.5%), freedom (15.9%), family (14.4%), faith (13.3%) and friends (10.6%). Interpreting the results according to the method of S. Schwartz, it can be revealed that Georgians are characterized by values of kindness, universalism, independence and some security (a tendency to decline). Thus, it can be argued that on one axis young people are clearly self-transcendental, on the other they tend to be open to change than to conservatism, although the block of values related to security (family safety, national security, respect for the opinions of others, etc.) quite significant.
