N2 - The purpose of this paper is to study the experience of St. Petersburg State University in training lawyers specializing in the law of the People’s Republic of China. China is the one of Russia’s main partners. However, despite the high level of interaction between the countries, modern Chinese law is little studied in Russia. Moreover, systematic education with law of the PRC in Russia, with the exception of St. Petersburg State University, is not organized. Basing on the analysis, synthesis, descriptive and predictive methods the paper describes the role of the Law Faculty of St. Petersburg State University in conducting examination of Chinese law in Russia and launching of teaching of the Chinese Law. Results. The article also provides an overview of how the implementation of the Chinese Law program is carried out. The author substantiates the need for further sinological research in Russian jurisprudence and improving the training of specialists in Chinese law. Discussion. This work could be used to correct modern processes in legal science and education, taking into account the importance of China for Russia, in addition, the article systematizes and describes for the first time the modern experience of teaching PRC law in Russia.
