The history of animal experimentation, moral and ethical aspects of the present status of the problem,
as well as normative and legislative acts in this field are considered. Animal experimentation is a necessary source
of knowledge and skills for biomedical scientists and physicians. It is a basis for growing up in a learning mind a
Psychology of acting humanism mandatory for professionalism of a medical doctor. Without it, mankind still cannot
fight disease. Experiments on animals are used in many areas of modern life: In medical science, cosmetology, food
industry, etc. The use of living creatures in the experiment meets many moral and ethical obstacles along its way, as
it steadily leads to various animal sufferings. Humanity at this stage is not able to completely abandon experiments
with animals. Despite all ethical problems, it is necessary to understand that animal experimentation is necessary to
