The paper deals with analysis of role of symbolic boundaries in identity politics. The author examines the concepts of boundaries, social boundaries, and symbolic boundaries; investigates role of boundaries in symbolic politics; and demonstrates how various forms and trends of symbolic policies employ symbolic boundaries. The author argues for considering the symbolic boundaries as a key element of politics of identity.
