During process of globalization cities get a huge amount of power because they concentrate the majority of transnational companies' headquarters, form the points of intensive economical growth and create new organizational and logistic network. These circumstances led to the appearance of “world city” (D. Freedman) and “global city” concepts. But not every researcher shares social optimism and radical economic reductionism of “world/ global city” concepts' supporters. Many of them note the challenges, which appeared before megacities.
