Existing notions concerning the place of historical geography in system of social and natural sciences are considered. It is shown, that the concept of the landscape-dynamic analysis elaborated by the author allows to eliminate a problem of «delimitation of the past and the future» in landscape, considering any landscape as a whole of its stable and dynamical components. Examples of application of the landscape-dynamic analysis in researches of processes in European Russia, having a historical-geographic component are given: dynamics of forest landscapes in the taiga zone; desolation of the developed and cultivated landscapes; drainage of peat-bogs and swamp plains in taiga and other landscape zones.
